Adventure Letters

Founding cohort now forming

The mail club where you follow an adventurer who goes wherever he pleases.

Jett Super wants to be in the party that saves the world. However, no one has invited him yet. So he wanders, on the theory that the best adventures are the ones you stumble upon. Every month, he writes to share his adventures and what he wants to do next. The physical letter arrives at your door. You can read it, listen to it, and even write in to help build the world.

One Piece meets Lord of the Rings meets a pen pal.

What is a snail mail club?

A story told entirely in letters, delivered by post instead of a screen. Dracula worked the same way. This one is cozier, and has considerably more dragons.

This is an ongoing story that you can jump into at any time. It is basically a fantasy found-footage story about an underdog trying his best.

Is this a thing? Yes. Thousands of people sign up for clubs like this every month, but this one is a one of a kind experience.

Here is an example of what you would get in your envelope

A month’s Adventure Letters envelope opened, with journal pages, a doodle and a pressed flower laid out.
See what's inside

Four to eight pages, poorly drawn doodles, and everything else he shoved in the envelope.

Jett is traveling the continent of Rengard and writing home about it. He is not a careful correspondent. He is an enthusiastic one.

The Journal

Four to eight pages recapping his month, written wherever he happened to stop. Picks up exactly where the last letter left off.

Marginalia

Sketches of the people, monsters and lunch he encountered, drawn in the margins by a man with no training whatsoever. Accuracy not guaranteed.

Evidence

Pressed leaves and flowers from the roadside, torn maps, Rengard banknotes he insists are still legal tender. Proof it all happened.

The Crossroads

A code inside every envelope, leading to the month's vote. You pick the road, he walks it.

The Archive

Every past chapter, free to read online for members, so you are never behind.

Read Aloud

Each chapter read aloud. A private video link comes in every envelope, so there is no app and nothing to log into. Take Jett along on the commute or the washing up.

Jett’s Guide to Not Dying

Field notes on surviving Rengard, appearing whenever he has learned something the hard way.

Who is writing to you

Meet Jett Super

“Took tea with a hoarding dragon. He was rude about my opinion of his treasure. I stand by it.”

A stylized illustrated character wearing fantasy armor with a gray tunic, brown leather straps, and a red hat, shown against a purple brick wall background.

Jett is blindly optimistic. It is the thing people love about him and the thing that keeps getting him cursed. He has no route and no plan, because in his experience the best adventures are the ones you wander into by accident.

He is journeying across Rengard: a continent of hoarding dragons, cursed philosophers, and something called an Orgal. One day he intends to be a name everyone remembers, in the party that finally saves the world. He has not found that party yet, so for now he walks, and he writes home about everything that happens on the way.

A scene from Jett’s travels across Rengard.

Rengard is crowded with magical creatures, quests worth taking, and people who are clearly good, clearly evil, or somewhere unhelpfully in between. There are decades of adventuring in it.

It is also why he lets you choose where he goes next. He genuinely has no preference.

Advice, threats, warnings about the philosopher. He writes to his readers, and his readers write back.

Vote on where he goes

Scan the code in your envelope and pick the next road. The majority decides what happens in next month's pages. I cannot write far ahead, so I find out roughly when you do.

World-build with the author

Send in a creature, an item or an encounter. If it gets picked, Jett has to deal with it, and you get the credit in print.

The Adventure Letters origin story

It started as a complaint about junk mail.

I got tired of opening a mailbox that only ever held bills and flyers. I wanted mail I would actually look forward to.

Other artists were running snail mail clubs, so I considered starting one. It clicked when I decided it should not be a one way broadcast. The point is not just sending a story out. It is building something with the people reading it, in a world that keeps getting more digital and less connected.

By the way, I am Elijah Joseph, a former professional magician and comedian, and a current rising indie writer and producer, mainly publishing manga inspired graphic novels through Heyy Comics.

My Kickstarters fund and ship on time, and this will be no different. The only real risk here is an unforeseen USPS delivery issue, which I will address promptly. Other than that, the hours spent finding and testing the right paper, pens and envelopes make me reasonably confident this will go smoothly.

Frequently asked questions

What is Adventure Letters?

An ongoing fantasy story delivered by mail. Every month you get four to eight pages from the journal of Jett Super, an aspiring adventurer traveling the continent of Rengard, plus his drawings, an audio version of the chapter, and small keepsakes he picked up along the way. It is a story and a physical object at the same time.

How does it actually work?

You sign up and give us an address. Jett writes the pages, draws his doodles and picks what to stuff in the envelope. It lands in your mailbox between the coupons and the bills. Inside is a scan code that takes you to the archive, the community, and that month's vote on where he goes next.

How often does mail arrive?

Once a month, one envelope. We are not splitting it into multiple mailings.

Do I need to start at chapter one?

If you join before launch, everyone in the founding cohort starts together at letter one in December 2026. After that you can join any month, since it is designed to be jumped into at any point. Paying members also get the chapter archive, including the audio versions, so you can catch up at your own pace or start where the story is now.

What does the voting actually change?

Real story decisions, not cosmetic ones. Each envelope has a scan code that takes you to that month's vote, usually a choice of where Jett travels next or how he handles a problem he made worse. The majority result is what he writes about next month.

Can I send things in?

Yes, and we want you to. Write Jett back, or submit an original creature, item or encounter. Selected submissions get worked into the story and credited in the letter they appear in.

What is the $1 founding member deposit?

It locks the founding annual rate of $126 a year, which works out to $10.50 a month, and reserves your founders-only comic strip before we set the print run. It comes off your first payment and is fully refundable at any point before launch. After launch the plan renews at $126 a year until you cancel. The free wait list gets launch day access. The $1 gets the rate and the card.

When does it launch, and what will it cost?

First envelopes post in December 2026. The exact date goes to the wait list before anywhere else. Pricing is set: $14 a month, $75 for six months, or $140 for a year. A single issue on its own is $18. Founding members who place the $1 deposit before launch pay $126 a year, and that rate holds for as long as they stay subscribed.

Where do you ship?

Shipping regions are being finalized based on where wait list signups come from. Join the list and tell us where you are, and it genuinely factors into the decision.

Can I cancel?

Any time, in one click from your account. Monthly renews every month, the six month plan every six months, and the twelve month plan every year. Cancel before a renewal date and you are not charged again, and you keep everything already paid for.
