About Elijah Joseph
Sup, I’m Elijah Joseph! The man behind the curtain here at Heyy Comics. I created Heyy Comics to tell stories that I wish were out in the world.
Why comics?
Well, my love of storytelling started when during my 10-year as a professional magician. Over a decade, I learned that people enjoyed the tricks, but what they LOVED was the story. See, the story made them laugh, connect, and believe a ‘trick’ is actually magic.
(There were many times when I was asked if I sold my soul to perform these tricks… my answer, like a good magician, was… I will never tell.)
During the pandemic, I could no longer tour, so to cope, I turned to my childhood love of reading comics and manga for comfort. I laughed, I was frightened, I was excited, I cried. At some point, I ran out of books that caught my attention.
So, I realized if the stories I want to read aren’t out there, then I will make them myself. I have two goals: to entertain the people who open these stories and maybe convince a few non-believers that comics are worthy of being called literature.
